KICKS BAR, MARGATE. Sexy, sophisticated (and that's just me) here is Margates latest bar and late night venue that is NOW OPEN!

Woohoo the day has arrived where I dust off my Stetsons and chuck on Wigfields Saturday night.
Margate lock up ya daughters cos this rabbit is going to be rampant tonight!

This is it. This is the moment. This is Kicks, Margate.

From the creators of The International Wrap Artists @Cinque Ports in Margate, Kicks is a dedicated party space situated under the iconic Cinque Ports.
I am a huge fan of @Cinque Ports, but despite its stunningly vibrant bar and lounge, amazing sea views, open kitchen restaurant and smooth hip hop vibe, when I last visited it closed its doors after food service. I was shocked. I wrote in my previous review that I left walking away thinking, is that it?

Well this is what I wanted, this is the more.
Perfectly placed as the party place to be seen at before and after the live shows taking place right next door in the iconic Dreamland venue, but this isn't focusing on capturing Dreamlands waifs and strays, it promises to be the missing link for Margates new DNA sequence.

Margate continues to gain further reputation as the place to be in the UK, IWA are on a mission to create a one-off bar that gets the party started.

Digital Soul is the maestro's of tonight's musical pleasures promising soulful house for the older party people. The party starts at 9 so I made sure I had an afternoon nap.

Tickets were £10 and that buys you entry and a wristband.

I'm turned on, lubed up and I'm loving the buzz.

This is the thing that Margate has been missing out on and now you are in the zone you wonder how you survived with less for so long.

In through the doors a long bar greets you, drinks menus are strategically placed along, heavy focus on cocktails and why not indeed at around £10 it's pretty much the same money as a glass of wine.
It has the same blissfully poppy and vivid graphics, neon lights and edgy, gritty style of @cinque ports, but the lighting is much lower, sexier.

Sophisticated. This isn't anything like a night club with sticky carpets and pound a drink specials.

This is a venue, an event, an occasion. You come here with intent, to see and be seen, to be with friends in a safe and respectful environment. This is where you can move, dance, be free to express.

The bar is raised from the open space for dancing, a great spot for people watching. The DJ is set at the far end commanding the show.

Tonight its customers are the original ravers, the house and funk groovers. Nothing like the classless kids who are gearing up for their evening of dance in Dreamland, they have been running riot in spoons, yacking up on balcony already.
This is where the grown ups will come to play.

The Cinque Ports was a destination for the casual diners, now it's a place to "Come for the tacos, stay for the party!”

Marine Parade, Margate.
