I had imagined myself as some kind of clairvoyant making predictions on success or failure, commenting on the psyche of the business model, but to be fair i'm just over opinionated. Ramsgate welcomes a new and exciting restaurant where the old "Travellers in Italy" restaurant was but more popularly remembered as Pizza Express which enjoyed a regal position on Ramsgates Royal Harbour marina within this gorgeous building. Welcome then to Chuck and Blade who have emerged onto the hospitality stage like The Prodigy on cocaine. I admit I had never heard of them and that is forgivable given they only started as a pop up in 2020, but now they have 4 sites in Kent and appear to be on the charge! I love a success story, especially when it is against all the odds, don't they know there's a war on? Yes the cost of living weighs heavily on most hospitality businesses but like I've written before, if you are attractive then you can not only survive, but you can thrive. They haven't even opened yet so forgive my forthcoming ramble for it is nothing more than my initial thoughts without actually eating the food or smelling the

REIGN BAR AND LOUNGE, BROADSTAIRS. Simply the most beautiful Bar, how long will it Reign? (groan)

Individuality, uniqueness, yeah they are important, but heres the thing, you could be the most individual of places, but if you are only appealing to a select market, you better make sure there are enough people to not only share in your vision, but be loyal enough a customer to pay for it over and over. Beware of creating a party for one Theres a new brawler on the block, and its coming out punching. Well, its not so much a brawler, it is far too pretty for that. Nethertheless it has stepped into crucible, the metaphorical ring, and it wants its reign to be remembered. (See what I did there) Where is it? Now back in vogue with the day tripping cultural tourists, Margate has become somewhat of a fascination, and those hungry from their adventures in the summer will invariably find themselves in an area known as the Piazza. NOT PIZZA... PIAZZA... Its a whole different thing.... Located at the edge of the old town, facing the sea, this is where you want to be if you are in the business of flogging food. THE HOT SPOT, THE SWEET SPOT. MARGATES CULINARY EQUIVALENT TO LONDONS COVENT GARDEN. This is a crucible for casual diners to enjoy their meal Al fresco in the glorious sunshine with views out to the spectacular beach and harbour.
