I like smudging my nose into other peoples business, so I write reviews on pubs and restaurants mainly but tourist attractions too. I had imagined myself as some kind of clairvoyant making predictions on success or failure, commenting on the psyche of the business model, but to be fair i'm just over opinionated. CHUCK AND BLADE, RAMSGATE.

Ramsgate welcomes a new and exciting restaurant where the old "Travellers in Italy" restaurant was but more popularly remembered as Pizza Express which enjoyed a regal position on Ramsgates Royal Harbour marina within this gorgeous building. Welcome then to Chuck and Blade who have emerged onto the hospitality stage like The Prodigy on cocaine. I admit I had never heard of them and that is forgivable given they only started as a pop up in 2020, but now they have 4 sites in Kent and appear to be on the charge! I love a success story, especially when it is against all the odds, don't they know there's a war on? Yes the cost of living weighs heavily on most hospitality businesses but like I've written before, if you are attractive then you can not only survive, but you can thrive. I've been quiet of late. The disposable cash drought pandemic has spread across the country like wildfire, no-one is safe. Today is a special day for us, it needs to be a special reason to justify going out nowadays doesn't it? Well actually it was a couple of weeks ago, nether the less this gave me an opportunity to sharpen my pencil and write this little review of the Pearly Cow which is the restaurant within the recently renovated No.42 in Margate which is an exciting addition to the boutique chain of hotels by Guesthouse.

CROWN INN, SARRE. THE CHERRY BRANDY HOUSE. Thanet's halfway house outpost has new tenants, let's see what they have done with the place.

Today I will take you on a journey to one of Thanets furthest out posts in the ancient village of Sarre . Sitting upon a prominent corner plot junction on the route to and from Canterbury it is instantly recognizable. The Crown Inn and Cherry Brandy House The new tenants have moved in and I have been curtain twitching since. I have written this from quite a personal perspective, but I have never stepped foot inside. This is a muse about the question what if because I saw it listed as available and I fancied a crack at it, I worked out what I could do here, I got quite excited until the boss said no! I've had a bit of a thing for this place since I noted it's listing on Shepherd Neames available pubs for tenants list last year. The previous tenant wanted to retire and so with fascination sparked I did my usual rummaging for the online goss. It's a proud building, iconic some might say.
